Product Description
Developed on 4 continents by some of the world's finest anglers, Ridge Tactical trout represents the combined efforts of our Pro Staff, who've helped fine tune Ridge technology to create the ultimate trout flyline. Combined TDC creates a true hi buoyancy variable density tip-this line will amaze you in heavy current - it's so buoyant you'll think its wearing water wings. Looped at tip and butt with our super smooth 'No Step Down' welds, buoyancy will remain throughout the lifetime of the line - no capillary action here to suck the tip down. Finally the Power Core, low stretch braided chassis converts casting energy with minimal losses, helping you deliver your fly with precision even when the winds blow. With only 6% stretch, the Power Core braid improves casting control, sensitivity and hook set - pretty impressive stuff. However, you'll be more impressed with the lines incredible suppleness and handling performance even in the harshest of conditions. Core: Low stretch Power Core for improved handling and high energy casting performance, Coating: Advanced Ridge XT for minimal friction, enhanced with TDC for super high tip buoyancy, Color: Peach / Pale Peach Tip
This review is from: Airflo Ridge Tactical Trout Hi Float Fly Line (Misc.)
It was interesting that a shop had sent me a demo SA Sharkskin lines as i received the Airflo Ridge line, so i was able to try both on my 5wt. Sage rod using an Orvis mid-arbor reel under the same condition. They are both good lines, but quite different. The Sharkskin appeared thinner and heavier. It "sings" as it goes through the guides, and the short and distance cast are easier than my old lines. The Ridge Line is a little more likable. Perhaps because it is not much of a departure from convention lines, or because it is $30 less. I think the Sharkskin is a very good line, but the Airflo Ridge is the best line I have used.
