This review is from: CRYSTAL RIVER CR-0001A CAHILL FLY REEL #8,9,10 (Misc.)
This seems to "fit the bill" well for an inexpensive larger fly reel.
I acquired an inexpensive fly rod that turned out to need heavier line (somewhere in the 300+ grain category). It is kind of heavy for me to cast for any length of time and is too heavy for the lake fishing I normally do. I decided to keep the rod in case I do any salt water fishing and was able to get appropriate fly line, but needed an inexpensive solution for "holding" the line. My option was to just drop the line in a bucket (which I would do with the "stripped" line anyway), but this should prove a better way to keep the line neat.
I am looking forward to seeing how this reel performs if I ever need to actually use it to "crank" in a fish.
