started out with an americana 5wt. nice rod, a bit slow for my casting preference. wanted a 4wt and tried sage, loomis, orvis power matrix as well as the new helios. got to give it to orvis, the helios is a true cadillac of rods,...but...the 4wt 8ft flawless was so nice. not just for the money, but a beautiful rod. fast,crisp,accurate,light and...affordable. i started out 29 years ago with a rod my grandfather gave me . ahand made bamboo w/3 tips from japan. retired it last year as a collectors item. i fish some highly educated trout in jerseys ken lockwood gorge and flatbrook. yes, jersey, year round w/ wild reproduction . presentation and good flies are paramount. i was so impressed today releasing a 16 in brown, 13 in brook, 17 in bow and 4in brown,wild,on my new 4wt flawless that im getting a 2 wt and a 10 wt for salt...29 years casting a fly rod at least 100 days out of a year. i say diamondback flawless rods rock. nuf said thank you diamondback rod makers, manville new...Read more
