These scissors are intended for use in fly tying but I don't fish. I use them for clipping threads on fabrics that I am sewing with my machine. They are perfect for fitting under the presser foot and cutting the threads close to the fabric. The previous pair that I had I used for many years before metal fatigue caused one of the handles to break off. It took me quite a bit of searching to find these replacements as all the sewing stores had the ones with the curved tip blades. This time I bought 2 pairs.
