I purchased this 8 weight fly rod to indicator fish for steelhead on my northern California river. It casts 2 flies, split shot and an indicator well. It is well made for the price and is a quality rod. Good sensitivity and feel. Very light but strong. It casts accurately and well from short to medium range. I think its a great buy for a less expensive rod.
