Product Review
Product Description
This Kevlar thread in a 50 yard spool is very strong and you can cut yourself with it if you try to break it by hand. This pre-waxed kevlar thread is about the size of 2/0 or size "A" thread and builds up fast on the hook. This thread is the perfect choice for tying bass bugs saltwater steelhead salmon and streamer patterns. Many tiers also use it for "spinning" deer and elk hair for hair bugs.

The thread is thin, but very tough. Tough to even cut it with scissors. Color is brown, with a copper-ish tinge when it reflects light.

I actually ordered this to tie plants onto driftwood in my aquarium, thinking that the brown color would blend into the driftwood color... however, I learned that this thread is reflective and actually shows up quite a lot under water. Probably a great thing if you were to actually make fly out of this thread, but didn't quite work as well as I hoped for my purpose. It IS durable though... while cotton threads dissolve in water over time and nylon clear beading/sewing threads eventually stretch and break from absorbing water, abrasion, or shrimp/fish nipping on them, this thread being made from kevlar has completely held up.

I am thinking of maybe giving the thread to my father in law who actually does...Read more
