Okuma Avenger Conventional level wind combos

This okuma combo is as advertised and an excellent buy. It comes pre-spooled with about 25lb. Mono line which I removed and replaced with 30lb. braid 300yds. the rod comes factory fresh and if you are familiar with star drag reels you will love this one, it also has a bait feeder which is easily tuned, An excellent buy !!!

This combo typically sells for $70-75 just about everywhere else and at that price one can get a Penn combo which is probably better. However at the <$50 Amazon price it appears to be very well made and functional although I have only used it once so far for inshore saltwater fishing in NC. It comes with no documentation at all. No instructions regarding care, no parts list, no "thank you for buying our quality product" blurb. It is prestrung with monofilament of unknown type (no info here either) which appears to be about 20 lb test. There was enough room on the spool to add another 100 yd of 30 lb test braided line. I e-mailed Okuma to see if I could get some tips about care or a parts list but their response was not very helpful. I think I got a good deal but I honestly do not know how well this rascal will hold up. If it breaks after the one year warranty I guess I will buy a Penn, but a lot of their reels are also made in China.

Never buy this rod and reel combo it a horrible. the time i order the packaging was really bad. the second time when I order it I was testing out the reel. It was horrible the reel doesn't reel at all. this rod is a piece of junk. I'm glad I'm returning this rod. You can't use this to fish, trust me I'm a pro fisher man this rod and reel is not even worth it. It's a big rip off!
