The individual fibers of this fantastic iridescent material are 4 times thicker than most "Mylar", yet through an exclusive process they are curled to reflect light in all directions. This makes fantastic Charley's, or use it to add flashy tails wings and even fins! Pearl-Curl can also be adhered directly to hooks as seen in Polaris Flies and their many youtube videos. Use it by itself, pull of the "barbs" to add pearlescent flash, as the curled materials reflect light flash and U.V.A. light in all directions. Yes it's a large feather, with about 192 - 4 inch 1/16 wide curled pearlescent "barbs" that radiate color and flash in every direction at the same time! The "spine" has 6 inches of usable space, yet it's a bargain as you can make 3 size 2/0 Pearl-Curl Herring striper and bluefish flies. If you pull off the "barbs" themselves to use as added flash on streamers, just 4 barbs added on each side of your bass, pike or saltwater fly you can add iridescent flash to over 20 flies! Using 3/4" pieces as I do on some of my larger 3/0 - 6/0 Polaris Hair Flies by low temp hot gluing onto each side, you can dress 4 flies with fantastically iridescent flash. Dress 6 size 1/0 & 2/0 streamers with just 1/2" on each side hot glued on. Or make 6 tube flies that are 4.5" long that you can use for stripers, blues, tarpon, salmon, steelhead, pike, trophy trout, peacock bass AND EVEN tiger fish. Talk about one tough versatile and tough fly! AND fly tying material!
