I own 2 sage rods (a Vantage 690-4 and a custom built ONE 590-4) and decided to go for a cheaper brand and model for everyday panfishing in neighborhood ponds here in Texas. The Reddington pursuit was my go-to option, and I couldn't be happier. For a rod in this price range, it is just wonderful: craftmanship is good, and I find the rod easy to cast. While I won't compare some of the craftmanship to my other rods, I can say that for the price I paid, I got way more than I expected. I would heartedly recommend this rod to (a) anyone who wants to get initiated in fly fishing, and finds the regular outfits/combos pricey (this is usually a costlier sort of fishing than spinning or baitcasting), or else (b) for any more experienced fly fisher who already owns plenty of rods and just wants a good, cheaper rod to complete his set or incur in a new weight category (e.g.: freshwater going to saltwarer) without having to purchase yet another $300+ rod, or else (c) for those of you who need a...Read more

This is a good quality rod and the reel is made of non-corrosive materials for years of use.
